Jubilee Scholarship student joins Informatics

Three Indian students have been awarded Jubilee Scholarships to pursue master’s courses at King’s, one of whom will be joining the Department of Informatics. As part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, the British Council and UK Government have awarded 60 young Indians scholarships to pursue one year master’s programmes in Management, Manufacturing, Science and Technology. Rushabh Doshi (pictured), Jcilas Mathai Joseph and Poulami Bhadra will be attending King’s from September 2012, and each will also complete a one-month internship as part of the programme.

Each scholarship was awarded to an Indian student with an excellent academic record. Rushabh Doshie will be starting the MSc in Robotics in the Department of Informatics. Rushabh, who graduated from DJ Sanghvi Engineering College with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, was very excited to be awarded the prestigious scholarship, and was immediately drawn to King’s for his area of study. ‘The course structure at King’s was the prime factor in my decision,’ he said. ‘The course offers all the aspects of Robotics Engineering – mechanical, electrical and computer science. The laboratory facilities offered by the department are also superb.’

Rushabh hopes to establish a new industrial and consumer robotics manufacturing plant later in his career.
