Informatics PhD students show mobile-controlled robot at the Edinburgh International Science Festival

The EVE Robotics Team (Evangelos Georgiou, Allen Jiang, and Evangelos Emmanouil) were invited to participate in the 25th Edinburgh International Science Festival in Scotland’s first ever Mini Maker Faire, a show case for inventors and DIY enthusiasts. The Edinburgh International Science Festival was the world’s first celebration of science and is still one of the largest science festivals in Europe. The Mini Maker Faire is a new feature of the festival which showcased over 150 ‘makers’ from traditional crafts to cutting edge technology.

The three members of the EVE Robotics Team are all PhD students in the Centre for Robotics Research in the Department of Informatics and were invited to show their robot DR-1 which was created as an independent project. DR-1 is a small mobile robot, wifi enabled and controlled from your iOS or Android mobile phone or tablet.
