Informatics academics win prizes at major international planning conference

Members of the Planning and Agents and Intelligent Systems groups, part of the Department of Informatics at King's College London, were awarded two prizes recently at the 22nd International Conference on Automated Planning and SchedulingDr Amanda Coles and Dr Andrew Coles, along with J. Benton (a post-graduate student from Arizona State University) won the Best Student Paper prize. Dr Andrew Coles also won the Distinguished Reviewer Award.

Members of the Planning, Agents and Intelligent Systems Group had 4 full papers at the conference, out of 37 accepted, cementing the group's reputation as one of the world-leading centres of planning research.

The group will be heavily involved in the organisation of future ICAPS events. Dr Amanda Coles is a Publicity Chair of ICAPS 2013 and a Workshop Chair of ICAPS 2014; and Dr Andrew Coles is a Tutorial Chair of ICAPS 2014.
