Lecturer gives public talk on robotics and dance

Dr Thrishantha Nanayakkara from the Centre for Robotics Research, Department of Informatics, gave a public talk on “Degrees of Artifice – the future of robots and dancers” in collaboration with the King’s Cultural Institute to a diverse gathering held at King’s College London on 24 October 2013.

Choreographer Shobana Jeyasinh presented a duet with one dancer mimicking a robot to give the audience a taste of what we can understand about the human body and its movement synthesis by creating robots that can engage with a human dancer in an interactive duet.
