Department of Informatics Outstanding Teaching Assistant awards

The Department introduced Teaching Assistant Awards in 2011/12. This is now an annual event, intended to remind teaching assistants that they play a very important role in the Department and that their hard work is recognised and appreciated by both staff and students. 

The winner of the Department’s Teaching Assistant Award 2012/13 is:

Martin Chapman – Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award

One Runner Up provided strong competition for Martin.

Christopher Hampson  – Outstanding Teaching Assistant Runner Up

The winner receives a cash prize of £250 and both will be presented with certificates marking their achievements.

He is very motivating and when he has given revision lectures/normal lectures, he has been very clear, organised and produces fantastic slides”

Has time for every question and willing to explain any detail or problem no matter how big, small, or silly the question may seem. Has gone above and beyond in hosting additional surgery classes before exams for revision or to cover material that a large number of students may have had trouble with in tutorials. Very approachable and makes learning certain things seem much less intimidating."
