Attacks at Istanbul's International Airport

King’s is saddened to hear about the attacks at Istanbul's Ataturk International Airport which killed 42 people and injured 239 people on Tuesday 28 June.

There have been a number of incidents in Turkey recently, including a car bombing in Istanbul in June and an attack on military buses in Ankara in February. Our thoughts are with all the victims and their families and friends.

At times like this, the King’s community can be a real source of support for each other. If anyone who has connections with Turkey, or any area of conflict, would like support you can get in touch with us in the following ways:

  • You can contact the Turkish society.
  • Your personal tutor will be able to offer support in relation to your studies. If you don’t know who that is then please get in touch with your departmental office.
  • You can contact our counselling service on 020 7848 7017 or email them at counselling@kcl.ac.uk.
  • The Chaplains are also available to have an informal discussion with you if you wish to, regardless of faith. Their contact details are published on thewebsite

Please note also that the chapels and prayer rooms across King's are always available to people for private reflection and prayer.
