London attacks

UPDATE: Friday 09 June 2017

Enhanced security will remain in place across our campuses. We are reviewing guidance information with the government and security services, in addition to our own internal threat and security risk assessments. We will revise our security arrangements in line with these reviews.

Please wear your passes as security will be checking at various entrances. Stay vigilant, stay safe.

We are shocked and saddened by the news of the terror attack which took place on Saturday 3 June. Our thoughts are with those who have been affected, and we thank the brave actions of all the emergency services involved.

As a safety precaution, all of our university buildings (campuses and halls of residence) were immediately placed in lock down and currently remain so. This means that all external entrances have been secured with the exception of the main entrances to the buildings and halls of residences. Staff and students can still access these buildings provided they show their King's ID passes.

The lock down will remain in place until at least Friday 9 June, but may change as more information comes to light.

Please note, the Metropolitan Police has set up dedicated hotlines on 0800 096 1233 or 0207 158 0197 for people who are concerned about friends or relatives who were in the area.

At times like this, the King’s community can be a real source of support for each other in a number of ways. For staff and students there is information on the Intranet about support services that are available.

The safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance and priority. The King’s security teams will continue to follow guidance of the Metropolitan Police.
