Student satisfaction high
The results of the National Student Survey (NSS) 2014, released this month, reveal a 90% overall satisfaction rate for the undergraduate Law programmes in The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London.
Academic support and teaching rated highly with 95% of students responding that staff are good at explaining things and a greater percentage of students than ever stated that staff were available to them when needed.
Organisation and management of the programme was also highly rated. Students were particularly happy with the smooth-running of the programme and the efficient communication of any changes to teaching or programmes.
Dean of The Dickson Poon School of Law, Professor David D Caron said: “I’m delighted that the School has risen in the National Student Survey rankings this year. I know that Faculty and Professional Services staff here are dedicated to improving the teaching and learning environment - so to have that recognised by our students is heartening. I will work with the Faculty to address areas where we can still improve and ensure our students have the best possible legal education we can deliver.”
The National Student Survey (NSS) is an annual survey of final year undergraduates across the UK. It is commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England and is conducted by an independent body, Ipsos-Mori. The Survey consisted of 23 questions grouped into a number of categories to reflect the student experience. The NSS gives students the opportunity to anonymously give feedback on what they liked about their programme and institution as well as things they feel could have been improved.
