King's students win R&T Cambridge Moot

A team from The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London recently won the Rajah & Tann-Cambridge Moot Competition 2016.

Of the 12+ universities who submitted memorials on the contract/tort moot problem, King's was chosen as one of the top eight to compete in the oral rounds at the University of Cambridge.

The team, comprised of Rishikeesh Wijaya (first year LLB), Jing Yi Chua (second year LLB), Tey Guan Khoo (second year LLB) and Hannah Tablan (first year LLB), comnpeted against the University of Liverpool and the University of Leicester during the preliminary rounds. After winning against both, the King’s team progressed to the semi-finals, where it subsequently defeated Queen Mary University of London.

The final round saw King's face off host University of Cambridge, judged by a panel which included lawyers from sponsor and leading law firm Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP. After an intense round of mooting, King's emerged as the winners. As a prize, each member of the team was awarded a Kindle.
