Indian National Bar Association visit the School

inba-visit_425x239On Friday 10 February 2017, The Dickson Poon School of Law hosted a group of Law students from the Indian National Bar Association (INBA).  The INBA is India’s largest voluntary bar association and it represents the entire Indian legal ecosystem, with more than 10,000 registered members across the globe. INBA has a dedicated section for law students (INBA Section for Law Students), whose vision is to promote an awareness of justice and the rule of law across India, and helping law students to become internationally minded, academically committed and legally skilled.

The students received presentations from Dr Holger Hestermeyer on the history and importance of international dispute resolution, from Professor Alison Jones on the breadth of the Competition Law LLM pathway, and from Professor Chris Howard on life at King’s and the School of Law, and met with current students.

Following a successful Academic Tour of the US, ten top Law undergraduate students joined an Academic Tour to UK to meet with The Dickson Poon School of Law students and staff, as well as UK Law firms & lawyers to learn the legal practice in UK, including a  visit to the House of Commons, invited by Virendra Sharma MP, to discuss the UK parliamentary system and its workings.
