Staff recognised for teaching and supervisory excellence
Professor Tanya Aplin has won the 2017 Supervisory Excellence Award for The Dickson Poon School of Law.
Each year the Graduate School at King’s College London gives Supervisory Excellence Awards to postgraduate research supervisors at King's College London as recognition for the exceptional contribution they have made to postgraduate supervision. Research supervisors provide vital support and guidance to students through the challenge of undertaking a PhD. The key criteria in selecting winners from the nominees are that they demonstrate innovation in their thinking or practice and that they support the personal development of their students towards their chosen career goal.
Successful supervisors will receive a certificate and a nominal financial award, they also receive recognition of their achievement at a Graduation Ceremony.
On winning the 2017 Supervisory Excellence Award, Professor Aplin said: ‘It is a privilege to receive this award and to supervise the exceptional Ph D students that we attract to the Law School.’
Seven members of staff from the School were also nominated for King’s Teaching Excellence Awards this year. The annual awards are a chance for students to nominate those staff who they feel have made a positive contribution to their experience at King’s.
Congratulations to all this year’s nominees from the School: Andrea Biondi (for Sustained Excellence); Mihael Jeklic (for Innovation in Teaching); Emily Hudson (for Education Experience); Leif Wenar (for Inclusive Education); Rob Chambers (for Quality Feedback); Silvia Borelli (for Student Support); and Kin Bouwer (Rising Star).
