Dr Ian Patel writes about Talha Ahsan's case for the New Statesman
Dr Ian Patel, a researcher for the International State Crime Initiative (ISCI), has published a 4500 word report in the New Statesman, entitled ‘The impossible injustice of Talha Ahsan’s extradition and detention’.
Dr Patel’s report tells the story of Talha Ahsan, a British national who has spent six years incarcerated despite never having been found guilty of an offence. He was extradited to the US in 2012 and is being held in a ‘supermax’ facility.
“I hope this article spreads awareness about Talha Ahsan’s case and reveals the legal absurdity of the position adopted by the European Court of Human Rights,” Dr Patel said.
