King's Law Community Walks the Walk
A team of forty students, academics, professional services staff and furry friends hit the pavements with more than 7,000 legal professionals last night, to raise money for legal pro bono charities.
Collectively, the team raised over £1,000, contributing to the overall total which is set to rival last year’s £540,000.
PhD student and gold medallist, Katherine Grainger, joined the team of lead walkers which included Lord Judge, Lord Chief Justice and Dominic Grieve QC MP, Attorney General.
One team member, Emma Walker, had just sat the final exam of her four year degree and celebrated by completing the 10km walk. Other students sacrificed precious study time to do their bit for the cause and join in the walk.
Seasoned London Legal Walker and London Legal Trust advocate, Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, Dickson Poon Visiting Professor, sent the team his best wishes from Qatar.
The 2013 walk was the biggest ever organised by the London Legal Support Trust.
