PhD students secure top research jobs

King's College London School of Law would like to offer its congratulations to its PhD students who have recently secured prestigious positions at European universities.

Marta Iljadica has been offered a lectureship at the University of Southampton School of Law. Marta is currently in the final year of her doctoral research at King's School of Law under the supervision of Professors Tanya Aplin and Penny Green working on a project entitled 'Graffiti Rules: Parallel Norms of Copyright in Public Space'. She was President of the Graduate Legal Research Society in 2009/2010 and was co-convenor of the International Graduate Legal Research Conference in the same year. Marta was formerly Research Fellow at City University London.

Hin-Yan Liu, a final year doctoral student, has been awarded a prestigious Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellowship at the European University Institute in Florence to work on his book The Legality of Robotic and Remote Weapons Systems, to be published by Hart. His PhD thesis has considered the increasing use of private security corporations in global security; he has been working under the direction of Professor Penny Green and Dr Chris Kinsey (Defence Studies), with the project title 'Law’s Impunity: Obliterating Responsibility for the Modern Private Military Company and its Contractors'.
