Heritage Lottery Fund award
King’s College London Library Services will benefit from £720,000 awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund to The National Archives for skills enhancement in London, East Anglia and Yorkshire.
The programme will fund 24 new traineeships in digital preservation, curation and engagement to meet the pressing need to improve expertise and resilience in this area and support the E-research agenda.
King’s is one of a number of partners including Wellcome Collections, UCL and the University of York. The first traineeships will begin in autumn 2018.
The rich and extensive collections of the King’s College London Archives and the Liddell Hart Centre for Military Archives are continually growing. The material is freely available for everyone from academic to private researchers including the media.
