Arts and Humanities
Over 2000 e-books via the JSTOR platform are now available for view by King’s students. King’s is also participating in a pilot project to the film platform, Kanopy, which allows students to access German and foreign language films. In addition, a project was initiated over the summer in the Maughan Library to increase the Humanities print book collection for the forthcoming academic year.
Business and Management
Several new databases have been purchased for the new Business School and are available for Business School students and staff via the Wharton Research Data Services platform (WRDS). Databases include S&P Global’s Compustat and Capital IQ and the Ivy US and Europe databases from OptionMetrics. Additional products obtained by King’s include Fitch Connect and Vault databases, as well as a journal subscription to The Economist.
Law
Several single title and e-book collections are now available for King’s students. The Oxford Legal Library offers a series of titles on the law of sale of goods and contract, authored by top scholars in the field, while the Westlaw e-Library has around 250 titles covering subject areas such as crime, insolvency and arbitration and dispute resolution. The Bloomsbury Family and Social Law Collection and 2016 edition of the Oxford Handbook of Law, Regulation and Technology were also added to King’s Law resources while a selection of e-textbooks for online Law modules via the provider Kortext was trialled and positively received. A large number Law e-books were purchased and made available on the Cambridge Core platform in addition to a number of digital course readings for King’s Online Law programmes.
Health Sciences
Over the last year the Psychology print collection has been developed and a considerable amount of print material has been streamlined. King’s also purchased additional Future Medicine and Future Science journal collection content – titles available to King’s users now include Nanomedicine, Future Cardiology and Epigenomics. In addition, several Cambridge University Press Psychology ebooks were added to the King’s online collection and are now available for use.
