Space Monkey Mafia win Mission Discovery

The winners of this year’s Mission Discovery, held last week on the Guy’s campus, were the Space Monkey Mafia.

The programme is run by the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine, in partnership with the International Space School Educational Trust, and for King’s is led by Dr Julie Keeble from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science at King’s and the Centre for Human & Aerospace Physiological Sciences.

British born astronaut, Michael Foale, led proceedings as the winners were announced.

The winning experiment will use an electrical field as a method of transporting polar liquids e.g. water in microgravity, and will actually be performed by NASA astronauts on the International Space Station.
