King's Researcher awarded the ANZICS Intensive Care Global Rising Star Programme Fellowship
Dr Manu Shankar-Hari, from the School of Immunology and Microbial Sciences at King’s College has been awarded the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society’s Intensive Care Global Rising Star Programme Fellowship for 2017.
He will travel to the 42nd ANZICS/ACCCN Annual Scientific Meeting in Queensland, Australia next month and deliver a presentation titled ‘Estimating attributable fraction of sepsis to inform clinical trials.’
An NIHR Clinician Scientist and Consultant Physician in the Departments of Critical Care Medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, Manu said:
"I'm honoured to receive this award and excited that my research perspective of combining immunology research and epidemiology to inform ways of improving outcomes in sepsis survivors has garnered international interest.”
The Intensive Care Global Rising Star Programme Awards aims to identify promising and innovative young clinicians/scientists. Only three fellowships were awarded globally.
