Allergy Academy Shortlisted for BMJ Award

The Allergy Academy has been shortlisted for a prestigious British Medical Journal (BMJ) Award. The awards, in its 10th year, are the UK’s leading medical awards recognising healthcare across the country.

Each year, there are more than 350 entrants who contend for the recognition of their professionalism, commitment, creativity, and hard work. The Academy has been shortlisted in the education category alongside five other nominees. The award celebrates a team that is leading the way in medical education and ensuring quality improvement for future generations.

The Allergy Academy, part of the School of Immunology & Microbial Sciences, was established ten years ago by Dr Adam Fox for healthcare professionals on the frontline of delivering care to patients with allergies. The vision of the academy is to provide education in allergy to a diverse audience of doctors, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, patients and their families.

The academy has run hundreds of courses, delivering education to over 10,000 delegates. They also produce many great online resources and webcasts.

The team will present their work to an expert judging panel, including patient representatives, on 10 May, with the winners announced at an evening black tie ceremony in Westminster Bridge. Good luck to the Allergy Academy
