Professor Catherine Shanahan appointed Faculty Vice Dean (Development, Diversity & Inclusion)

 

The Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Catherine Shanahan as the Faculty Vice Dean (Development, Diversity & Inclusion). This new role is the first of its kind for King's and it is an important milestone in taking forward the Faculty's diversity and inclusion agenda.

Professor Shanahan is a Professor of Cellular Signalling, based within the School of Cardiovascular Medicine & Sciences and has been actively engaged in implementing the Development, Diversity & Inclusion agenda within the Faculty. As an active member of the Faculty Diversity & Inclusion Committee, she has been a champion for gender equality and has implemented a number of initiatives to support Development, Diversity & Inclusion for all staff and students.

Professor Shanahan will work closely with the Faculties Diversity & Inclusion Team to ensure inclusion is embeded into governance, processes, research and education.

Professor Shanahan said `I hope to implement change that people across the Faculty can really feel has impacted positively on their working lives'.
