Theoretical Physics group involved in Marie Curie Initial Training Network

The Theoretical Physics group in the Mathematics Department at King's College London is taking part in the prestigious Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) grant. The grant is funded by the People Programme (Marie Curie Actions) of the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme, FP7.

The new network is called “Gauge Theory as an Integrable System” (GATIS) and it will start operating in early 2013. Network participants include leading research centres in Europe such as DESY and Humboldt University (Germany), CEA Sacley (France), Nordita (Sweden), Porto University (Portugal) and University of Durham (UK). One of the private partners involved is Wolfram Research, this organisation is the biggest producer of the computational software.

This grant will attract new PhD students as well as enable King's to organise various theoretical physics events and support students to attend events across the network. In particular, the 2015 “Integrability in Gauge/String Theories” conference will be hosted at King’s. This is one of the major conferences within the field of theoretical physics.

For further information on the GATIS network, please contact Dr Nikolay Gromov.
