KCL Tech hosts HackKing's

For the first time in the UK, King's College London societies will be hosting the largest student-run, inter-university hackathon. From Oxford all the way to St. Andrews in Scotland, HackKing's will be a display of how much some of the brightest minds from across the country can innovate in just 24 hours.

The aim of the event is to think of an idea, design it and code a working proof of concept in just 24 hours. Participants are free to build for whichever platform they choose for their idea. Whether it's native mobile apps, or the Web, it is completely up to them.

There are some great prizes to be won as well; Codeacademy will be offering internships to some of the best participants; Pebble will be providing their smart-watches to some of the best hacks, while Facebook will be giving away a prize every hour of the 24 hours!

This event is brought to you by the King's College London Tech Society in partnership with King's College London Business Club.

Founded by two Department of Informatics students, Ammaar Reshi and Niklas Begley, KCL Tech is built not only to connect students at King's with some of the best tech companies and startups in the industry, but also to create a collaborative community of people who are passionate about tech, whether they come from a Computer Science degree or not. The Society runs workshops that help students gain new tech skills so that they can begin pursuing projects that they are interested in.
