King's Department of Philosophy ranked 2nd in the UK by The Guardian and 16th in the World by QS
The Department of Philosophy is delighted to announce that it has been ranked second in the UK in The Guardian's 2014 philosophy subject league table, up three places since 2013. King's Philosophy ranked above both Oxford and Cambridge in the overall ranking, and scored highest in respect of the percentage of graduates who find graduate-level jobs, or are studying further, within six months of graduation.
This follows the recent news that the department placed 16th in the QS World University Subject Rankings. This is a particular coup for the Department, which now finds itself ahead of many other distinguished Philosophy departments such as UCL, Yale and the Sorbonne.
The QS World University Rankings are annual university rankings published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which provides overall rankings as well as ranking for individual subjects. The QS World University Rankings is regarded as one of the three most influential and widely observed international university rankings, along with the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities.
