Minorities and Philosophy: King's College London chapter
We are delighted to announce that, following a call for participation, a group of our graduates applied to the 'Minorities and Philosophy' initiative and have just been informed that the application to form a King's College London chapter was successful.
The aim of the MAP initiative is to address issues of minorities participation in academic philosophy, through a variety of outreach events and workshops. MAP chapters and the ensuing events are predominantly co-ordinated by graduate students, although Dr Eleanor Knox has agreed to be a named member of staff associated with the King's chapter.
At present, the newly established King's MAP chapter is planning a number of events and activities to commence in the coming academic year.
This is an initiative launched by Princeton, and supported by chapters at Yale, Rutgers, Harvard, Columbia, CUNY, Stanford, Cornell, Berkeley, UCLA, Toronto etc. The KCL chapter is the first to be established in Britain.
Well done to our wonderful graduate task-force!
