Higgs boson and the Stability of the Universe

On 24 June 2014, PhD student Robert Hogan presented at the Royal Astronomical Society's National Astronomy Meeting in Portsmouth. The subject of the talk attracted a lot of media attention and sparked discussion on various social media channels. The talk was based on ongoing research by Dr Malcolm Fairbairn, of the Department of Physics, Theoretical Particle Physics & Cosmology research group. The research which caused such interest was work based on the Stability of the Universe from the Higgs Boson discovery.
