Silver at BUCS Gymnastics Championship for King's Sport Elite
King’s student and Singapore representative gymnast Timothy Tay earned the silver medal in the individual high bars at BUCS gymnastics championships on Sunday 15th February. Tim’s score of 13.000 in the event contributed to a total score of 76.950 across the six-piece elite event, which featured routines on the floor, pommel, rings, vault, parallel and high bars. This placed the former 2010 Youth Olympic Games athlete sixth overall.

Rowing come-back progressing for 4-time Olympic alumna
King’s Law Alumna Katherine Grainger showed that her come-back bid to row at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games is gathering momentum during the third annual Great Britain rowing assessment held in Boston, Lincolnshire on Saturday 14th February.
The 4x Olympic Medallist, who last competed at the London 2012 Games having since taken two years out of the sport, posted the second-fastest time overall in women’s openweight single scull time-trial. She was joined in 15th place by last year’s Great Britain Women’s Eight oarswomen Zoe Lee, who is currently completing her PhD in Geography at King’s.
Both rowers will now be aiming for inclusion in the Great Britain women’s rowing team following the final set of annual trials to be held at the team’s rowing base in Caversham, Berkshire at the end of spring.
King's Sport Elite fencers represent university in Paris
University fencers were in action in Paris over the weekend at the X-systra International Challenge. The competition held at the Ecole Polytechnique brought together competitors from across Europe, and included King’s Sport Elites Brynmor Saunders and Anouk Vincenti. In the women’s épée competition, Anouk, who is the current university women’s team captain and a former international youth fencer placed in the last eight, having finished second in 2014, whilst Senior Great Britain international Brynmor took third in the men’s sabre discipline.

University cheerleaders take silver at UK University Cheerleading Nationals
The university’s student cheerleaders secured second place at Saturday’s UK University Cheerleading Nationals. The KCL Lions, competing in the level 2 university all girl division scored 100.6 points with the following routine.
