Dr Paul Sweetman presents paper on subcultures at Royal Geographical Society
Description
CMCI Senior Lecturer Dr Paul Sweetman recently co-presented a collaborative paper on 'Subcultures and the Experience and Branding of Place and Fashion' at the Royal Geographical Society/Institute of British Geographers Annual International Conference in London. The paper is the outcome of a collaboration between Dr Sweetman, Professor Atle Hauge (Eastern Norway Research Institute) and Professor Dominic Power (Stockholm University). Dr Sweetman has studied the cultural and economic impact of key subcultural groups, especially the relationship between subcultures and place, together with branding, marketing, fashion, and people's perceptions and experiences of urban spaces.

Film Studies students screen short film at BAFTA 2017
Description
King's students from the Department of Film Studies will screen their short film Girl in the Bubble at this year's BAFTA awards in London. Cameron Richards, Megan Stewart, Rob O' Kelly and Michelle Barnette founded their production company These people make pictures at King's, after working together on a web series called Hero.

Dr. Ricarda Vidal exhibits collaborative artwork Revolve:R; edition two
Description
CMCI's Dr Ricarda Vidal and collaborator Sam Treadaway are exhibiting their multidisciplinary work Revolve:R; edition two, a two-year-long collaboration between artists, writers, filmmakers, a mathematician and a composer. They will be showing works on paper, poems, art films and a musical score at University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, Surrey, until October 07 2017. Anyone interested in the event is invited to join Dr. Vidal for drinks and a chat at the exhibition on 21st September from 6 pm.
