Feminist Perspectives - 'Disciplined and Resistant Bodies'

A new series by Feminist Perspectives: 'Disciplined and Resistant Bodies'

In what ways do gender norms, social norms politics, institutions, legal frameworks, and traditions attempt to discipline bodies? How do bodies, and the identities attached to them, resist these processes? How do different identities and tensions manifest in disciplined and resisting bodies?

'Disciplined and Resistant Bodies' critically interrogates the role of the body/ bodies in feminist activism, theory and personal experiences.

The launch of this exciting series in 2023 will offer intersectional analysis to explore this theme in relation to women and girls, masculinities, LGBTQIA+ people, disabled people, immigrants, refugees, Black, Indigenous and Brown communities.
