Congratulations to Dr Vinicius de Caravalho who has been made an Officer of the Order of Rio Branco, the highest honour that can be bestowed by the Brazilian State. Dr de Caravalho will be invested into the order formally at a ceremony at the Brazilian Embassy.

Dr de Carvalho said: “It is a great honour for me to become an Officer of Rio Branco’s Order. This nomination represents the acknowledgement by the Brazilian State of the engagement one has had to diplomatically promote Brazil. The award is individual, but I tribute it to the work carried on at the King’s Brazil Institute, where, together with my outstanding colleagues, we created one of the most dynamic spaces for the study of Brazil abroad.”
