New article: 'Like Bits in a Jigsaw'

Exploring Ancillary Staff Interactions With Care Home Residents

An open journal

International Journal of Older People Nursing today publishes a new paper by Senior Research Fellow Kritika Samsi and colleagues. It explores accounts of the interactions between ancillary workers and care home residents during COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. The article is the second from the study, The other keyworkers in care homes, with a third forthcoming. The authors also developed a good practice guide in 2022 (available from the project page).

In the present publication, the authors conclude: ‘Interactions between ancillary workers and care home residents are important, can contribute to staff well-being and resident quality of life by fostering relationship-based care and promote the sharing of health and care information.’ – from the abstract
