This is a wonderful way for parents at King's to help other parents, as well as to encourage sustainability, and reduce waste going to landfill. I've got some toddler clothes I've been meaning to sort through and donate, so I'll be bringing these in to work for the donation drive.Pam Mellen, NEST Co-Chair, and Research Software Lab Manager at the King's Digital Lab

New charity donation points on campus make it easier for students and staff to donate items
King’s students and staff can now donate items directly to partner charities, thanks to King’s Volunteering’s new Donation Stations on campus. The first donation drive will run from 12 May to 13 June 2023, collecting items for Little Village, a charity that provides clothes, toys and equipment for babies and preschoolers to local families in need.
King’s Volunteering connects students and staff at King’s with volunteering opportunities with over 100 different community partners – that's charities, community interest companies, and community groups.
Many of our partners rely on donations from the public, from clothing and blankets to items for babies, toiletries, food, and much more.
We are pleased to introduce Donation Stations – donation points at each of our King’s Campuses where students and staff can leave items for charity.
From 12 May - 13 June 2023, King’s Volunteering are collaborating with NEST, the network to engage, support & bring together parents and carers at King’s, to collect items for King's Volunteering partner, Little Village. You can find out more about the current donation drive on the King’s Volunteering website.
Keep up to date
There will be different donation drives throughout the academic year, and details will be communicated on the King’s Volunteering Donations webpage, with posters on the Donation Stations, and on campus noticeboards.

I think this new scheme is a fantastic idea! It will allow students like me - who have a hectic work schedule and limited time to dedicate to volunteering - to give something back to the community and make a difference. This new initiative will allow all students and staff - even those short on time - to have a positive impact on our local communities.Ben Ettridge, third year Economics and Management student
