Manganese

Manganese is an essential trace element, as it is incorporated into metalloproteins that are integrated into several key enzymes.

Manganese metalloproteins have a wide array of functions as cofactors for several enzyme families including oxidoreductases, transferases, and hydrolases, and as such, manganese is one of the most common metals in human tissue.

The full entry for manganese is undergoing validation and will be added to OpeN-Global soon.
