Biography

Dr Hedongliang Liu is a Post-doctoral Researcher Associate in the Department of Engineering, King's College London.

 She received the BEng degree in Information Engineering in 2016 from Southeast University, PR China and the MSc degree in Communication Engineering in 2018 from Technical University of Munich, Germany. She obtained her PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in July 2024 from Technical University of Munich. 

Dr Liu received the nomination of Schmidt Science Fellow by Technical University of Munich in 2024, and the Hensoldt ARGUS Science Award on her Master's Thesis in 2019. She was a volunteer as a website designer for ISIT 2022. She is a Member of the IEEE since 2024 and serving as a reviewer for the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, Finite Field and their Applications, Mathematics and Designs, Codes and Cryptography. 

Research Interests

  • Error-correction coding theory for distributed storage and networks
  • Error-correction codes based on polynomials
  • Quantum error correction
  • Fault-tolerant quantum computing
  • Distributed quantum computing

Dr Liu conducts research on theory of error-correction codes and their applications in the frontier technologies such as distributed storage, communication and computing systems. Her current research focuses on secure and private coding schemes for distributed quantum communication and computing systems.
