Kate Greenstock

Midwife, coach and facilitator

Biography

Kate is a practising midwife, coach and facilitator. As a midwife she worked until recently within a continuity of carer team in London; as a coach she supports midwives and others in healthcare to creatively re-imagine their work lives and amplify their distinctive voice. Her favourite part of being a midwife is witnessing and supporting ‘newborn’ families and 'newborn' midwives in their profound transition and changing identities. Her book Flourish: A Practical and Emotional Guide to Thriving in Midwifery was published in 2023. It opens up a clear map of the rugged emotional landscape of midwifery, and invites a deeper awareness of self, purpose and choice using coaching tools and mindsets.

Kate is an experienced Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF). She is a skilled facilitator of groups, shaping leadership development environments for pioneering healthcare professionals, and enjoys creating reflective spaces with midwives and student midwives. She facilitates Schwartz Rounds (exploring the emotional impact of healthcare work) for her home NHS Trust and is an itinerant Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA). She is currently based in Delhi, India, studying for an MSc. in Global Maternal Health and supporting practice development in the Government hospital system. She is exploring 'great' maternity care alongside the BEACON team as her Master's dissertation project at City London University working in collaboration with King's College London.
