Biography

Dr White is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Women’s Health and Diabetes at King’s College London. She is also an Honorary Consultant in Metabolic Medicine (Clinical Biochemistry) at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) where she works as a clinician in the Diabetes in Pregnancy service. Dr White is the Maternal Diabetes Clinical Research Lead, leading the Diabetes in Pregnancy research programme, and using her clinical and academic expertise to facilitate the smooth running of research studies at GSTT. She teaches and supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Through local, national and international collaborations, her research focuses on exploring pathophysiological pathways leading to hyperglycaemia in pregnancy and stratification of potential disease subtypes, as well as pragmatic trials identifying ways to improve outcomes in women (and their offspring) at higher metabolic risk before, during and after pregnancy. She advises for Tommy’s Charity and Diabetes UK.
