Cocaine Cue Database (CCD): development and validation of pictorial stimuli database for a cocaine cue reactivity paradigm
The Cocaine Cue Database (CCD) study will investigate how current users of crack and powder cocaine perceive cocaine-related images. We will measure the degree of craving experienced when viewing the images, which will help us develop an image database to be used in future studies to better understand the mechanisms and potential treatments of cocaine addiction.
Participants will complete two online sessions in which they will rate a series of cocaine-related and neutral images on multiple characteristics, including degree of craving they elicit. The results will be used to select images for the final database.
In addition to being used in future studies at King’s College London, the database will be made available to researchers worldwide to improve consistency and quality of research in the field of cocaine addiction.
Participants will receive £30 compensation for their time in the form of e-vouchers valid for major UK retailers and supermarkets.
