Single Molecule Localisation Microscopy (SMLM) achieves resolution beyond the diffraction limit by detecting and localising individual fluorescent molecules with high precision. Fluorophores are activated in sparse subsets so that their positions can be determined one at a time and then reconstructed into a high-resolution image. Techniques such as STORM and PAINT/DNA-PAINT fall into this category, enabling visualization of cellular structures at the nanometre scale. SMLM imaging is offered on out combined Nikon/Abbelight SAFe MN360 system.
