Course overview
This module aims to enable practitioners to achieve mastery in knowledge and competence in tissue viability. Competence in tissue viability enables the practitioner to offer greater effectiveness in wound care and potential health gain to patients. The module aims to assist the practitioner to develop a critical approach to their practice and to develop their expertise in therapeutic and educational roles within the field of tissue viability. The module also enables practitioners to continue to advance their knowledge and understanding, and to develop new skills to a high level.
This course is available at both Level 6 and Level 7. Please ensure you apply for the appropriate Level (you need to provide evidence of a BSc Hons degree to study at Level 7)

Who is this for?
This module is for nurses who aspire to develop their skills in tissue viability. It is relevant to those starting out in the field of tissue viability or nurses who wish to develop their wound care skills.
How will I be assessed?
- 2000 word case study
- Practice Assessment Document - To complete and pass the Tissue Viability Module Level 6, practitioners will need to arrange and undertake supervised practice with a Tissue Viability Nurse or equivalent in the clinical environment. The students must confirm that they have made contact and agreement with a Tissue Viability Nurse (or equivalent) and that agreement has been obtained by a manager (if applicable) should the practitioner need to be released from their workplace to undertake supervised practice hours. Once successfully enrolled on the Tissue Viability Module students are expected to meet and complete the practice assessor document and email back to the Module Lead. The date to submit the form will be provided at a later time.
