I wanted to offer a special greeting to all our Jewish staff and students. As the new academic year begins, we're also entering the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashana.
This begins the holiest period of the Jewish year, and it's appropriate to greet your Jewish friends and colleagues with the Hebrew words 'Shana Tova', meaning 'Good Year'.
For all Jewish colleagues, staff and students entering the high holy Days of Awe – Rosh Hashanah, the New Year and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement – we wish you a good and sweet year. And, may you be sealed in the Book of Life for the year 5784.
Shana Tova to you all.
The Revd Dr Ellen Clark-King
Dean of King’s College London
