January graduations – celebrating our class of 2023

To complete the King’s class of 2023 for those graduating after summer, many graduands attended a winter graduation ceremony between Friday 12 January – Friday 19 January at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank. We’ve enjoyed seeing how many of you have marked your incredible achievements and celebrated with friends and family.

Over thirteen ceremonies, more than 5,800 students crossed the stage to collect their awards, filling the venue with joy and cheer from members of our global community. We are pleased for our graduates to now join the ever-growing alumni community of over 220,000 people.

To capture a glimpse of graduation over the six days, we spoke to graduates on their degree experience, and asked for their words of advice to others graduating in the near future.

Degree programme: Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health MSc (online)

What was the highlight from your experience at King’s? The fact that I could have a paid job whilst completing a subject that I loved in the UK.

What few words of advice would you give to future graduates? Specifically to remote students, find a way to set deadlines for yourself. Find at least five things to motivate you to keep going, and never, ever underestimate what you are doing just because it’s remote. This is your future, and some things are going to happen long distance, whether that’s relationships or degrees!

Degree programme: Master of Pharmacy (MPharm)

What was the highlight from your experience at King’s? The community and the opportunity for everyone to find a place for themselves. There is opportunity everywhere here, even though we all belong to separate campuses. They all have their own unique feel, and ultimately we are all King’s.

What few words of advice would you give to future graduates? Grab every opportunity you have right away. The time goes by so quick, you blink and it’s gone. You’ll look back soon and think, I did it! Completing your degree is such an achievement.
