King's College London is looking to grow, train and develop a network of committed teachers and social workers through the King's Advocate Award to support the university with its social mobility agenda.
The King's Advocate Award is a one year programme that seeks to provide training and resources to a new network of teachers and social workers to support under-represented learners in their context. The Award is delivered and accredited by the Widening Participation Department at King's College London as an additional training opportunity for teachers and social workers in their current roles.
Teachers based in non-selective state schools across Greater London are invited to apply, as are London-based first and second year participants on the Frontline social work development programme. We also welcome applications from all London-based social workers.
Applications for the 2021/22 programme are now open and will close on October 31st 2021. To apply, please click here.
King's Advocates will:
Teachers in Greater London
All teachers who are based in non-selective state schools across London for the 2020/21 academic year are eligible to apply for the Award.
Social workers in Greater London
All social workers based in a London borough and Frontline participants (in their first or second year), working in a London borough, are encouraged to apply for the Award.
Applications for the 2021-22 King's Advocate Award starting in the Autumn term are now open. Apply here: https://kings.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/kings-advocate-award-application-form-2021
King's Advocates will be selected based on an online application which will include three extended questions. Priority will be given to applicants who show an understanding of, and commitment to, Widening Participation as well as those who demonstrate a particular need for financial support.
We are committed to improving our relationships with, and support for, teachers, schools and colleges. Applicants who are not selected for the King's Advocate Award are invited to attend our training sessions and conferences for teachers.
