Camille Desenclos achieved her Master’s degree in 2009 in History & New Technologies from Ecole National des Chartes, France. Her thesis concentrated on the extraordinary embassy of the Duke of Angouleme, 1620-1621.

Camille is currently researching a PhD in Early Modern History at the same institution. Her thesis will concentrate on the communication policy of France in the Holy Roman Empire at the beginning of the Thirty Years War. The digital element of this research relates to electronic editions and the encoding and ciphering of diplomatic correspondence and structures in the medieval charters.

Camille has given a number of conference talks, concentrating on the Text Encoding Initiative and its application to her research. In addition, she is currently compiling an electronic edition of the correspondence of Antoine Du Bourg (adviser to the Parliament of Brittany in the early 16th century) for the Ecole National des Chartes.
