Celebrating Somerset House style

SomersetHouseSkating

Crisp autumn air and good company made for a memorable weekend of ice skating for King’s alumni in November.

More than 150 alumni, spouses and friends enjoyed an opportunity to skate in the Somerset House fountain courtyard during the weekend of 20-21 November. All ticket proceeds will support the renovation of Somerset House East Wing, which was hidden behind a wall of scaffolding concealing the renovation work as it takes shape.

Restoration of the East Wing is well underway, with construction crews working on all six levels of the Georgian landmark working to return the building to its former glory. Work on the building is scheduled to be complete by next autumn, in time for the new academic year.

Between the cooperative weather, mulled wine and beautiful setting, it was a special time for alumni to gather, chat with College friends and practice their salchows and axels.

Somerset House skating is part of a series of events for alumni. Visit the Alumni Online website for more.
