This is a very ambitious campaign. It has to be. The issues are substantial, complex, and compelling. We can’t afford anything less than a comprehensive and immediate response. We’ve already started work on answering some of the world’s critical questions. But there are many more. None of them are easy, and none of them can wait. We’re convinced we can make a major difference by 2015.
To do this we need to dramatically expand our work. We need more specialist researchers; experts on different sides of the same issues; support for exceptional students; and the space and tools for them to excel. The campaign is not just about big gifts for big projects – much of the success of World questions|King’s answers will come from the many smaller gifts that together add up quickly to a big difference across King’s and beyond.
At the heart of World Questions|King’s answers are students and staff of King's and King's Health Partners, on whose talents and dedication the success of the campaign depends. Last year the College disbursed £2 million of gifts from alumni and in years to come we hope to offer even more. Student opportunities are a key theme throughout the campaign’s themes – the aim is to increase money available for student and staff projects by doubling the number of supporters who choose to give.
