King's College London Mathematics Society
KCL MathSoc is a student run society that aims to represent
and support all Mathematics students. The society provides academic
resources to ensure its members are well equipped for their studies, as
well as opportunities to integrate with fellow Mathematicians through a
number of social and careers events.
Ice-skating, paintballing, IMAX and theatre trips are a few
of the exciting events the society has lined up for the upcoming
year. The annual Cumberland Lodge trip is a weekend away, occurring
midway through the second semester; talks on the more appealing side of
maths are organised, and there is plenty of leisure time to enjoy
Windsor Great Park.
In order to help prepare Maths students for life after
university, MathSoc is keen to expose its members to a wide selection of
potential career paths by holding a number of career events throughout
the year. The Mathematics Professional Skills Programme, run with King's
Careers and Employability, is a helpful guide for students and a
great opportunity to meet a variety of employers.
KCL MathSoc will kick off the academic year with a warm
welcome to all Maths students at their Meet & Greet event in
First years will also be given the option of having a
designated second/third year “Buddy”, who will be available to offer
advice and answer any questions throughout the academic year.
The current MathSoc committee can be contacted via email (email@example.com).
