Research
King’s College London is a leading centre for the study of mathematics in the UK. The Department is ranked fourth among mathematical sciences units in the UK for the quality of its research outputs, with 31% of its work judged to be world-leading (4*) and 56% to be internationally excellent (3*) in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF).
Our staff are involved in interdisciplinary research collaborations both internally within King’s and externally. They have formed partnership with colleagues within the Faculty in the Departments of Informatics and Physics, and across the institution with the Randall Centre for Cell and Molecular Biophysics, part of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine. Externally they work with the Francis Crick Institute and industrial partners such as EDF Research, the Pensions Policy Institute, and Unilever.
