Title: Research Associate in Theoretical Physics
Biography
Davide Cassani obtained his PhD in Theoretical Physics in 2009 from the Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris and the University of Roma Tor Vergata. He then had a postdoctoral research position at the University of Padova. He joined the Theoretical Physics group at King's College in October 2011 as a postdoctoral research associate.
Research Interests
Davide's research interests are focused on string theory and supergravity. In particular, he studied the relations between dimensional reductions with fluxes, gauged supergravity, and the geometry of compact manifolds. He also worked on some aspects of the gauge-gravity correspondence, such as the study of solutions with non-relativistic scale symmetry, which have interesting applications in the holographic description of condensed matter phenomena.
