Research Interests
My primary research interests are in the governance of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, particularly the politics of conflicting agendas and values across scales of risk management.
Biography
I hold an MSc in Disasters, Adaptation and Development from King’s College London (2010/11), and a BA in Geography from Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge (2006/09).
Research
I am currently co-editing a Global Synthesis Report entitled ‘Megacities and Urban Regions on the Coast’, for LOICZ-IGBP with Professor Mark Pelling. The project is a review of current knowledge about the two-way interactions between mega-urbanisation and the coast, looking at the construction, impact and management of environmental degradation, natural hazards, and human vulnerability. We will launch the report at the Planet Under Pressure conference in London (26-29 March 2012), and at the end of April I will travel to Florida, USA to present the project at the Coastal City Summit (01-03 April 2012).
