Brazil in focus

21 January 2019

Brazil is a truly unique country. As the world’s fifth-largest country, it is rich with diversity and dazzling with vibrancy. The Brazil Institute hosted 'Brazil Week', celebrating a programme of events exploring the political, social and cultural highlights and challenges in Lati America's largest country.

The Brazil Institute has dedicated its time to pioneering research, digging below the surface of Brazilian life, since its launch over ten years ago. Its Director, Professor Anthony Pereira, explains why Brazil is such an interesting country and why it’s important to study the country in such depth.

As Brazil enters this new and challenging period, I can think of few more interesting places to be.– Matthew Richmond, former King's PhD student
