Connections & Outreach

The Department of Classics at King’s has close links to some of London’s most important museums, galleries, and performing arts venues.

KCL BM Pottery Class-13

Our researchers advise on new exhibitions, for example the London Mithraeum, and offer public lectures on the city’s latest classically-themed cultural productions. Taught modules involve students visiting collections and experiencing handling sessions in places such as the British Museum.

The Department engages in a range of outreach activities with schools around London, including with those schools that do not currently teach Classics. We offer taster days, workshops, and summer programmes at King’s. We also visit schools to give syllabus enrichment talks, and some of our undergraduates teach Latin in primary schools.
